API Composition in 2006/2007 and 2007/2008 Cycles (March 2008) This page shows how the API is calculated from standardized test scores in the 2006/2007 cycle. The composition of the API remained the same for the 2007/2008 cycle.

High Schools Have Lower API Scores Than Elementary or Middle Schools (May 2006) This graph, from Spotlight on California High School Performance, shows that from 1999 through 2005, high schools have had the lowest Base API scores and the smallest percentage of schools reaching a Base API of 800. Compared to middle and elementary schools, high school performance has been relatively flat.
